A Boring Week Done...

It has been a very long week, mostly boring, with the odd sprinkling of chaos.

One day I played mechanic's assistant, a job I did poorly at best. I basically was asked to fetch tools, most of which I had trouble recognizing. I did learn a few things, though. Did you know there is such a thing as a bitch pin? Apparently it is called that because it's a bitch to get it out. From what I saw, it's not that easy getting it back into place, either. My kid is the only mechanic I have seen use a sledge hammer, while flat of his back, under the car. My main job was to keep my phone handy and watch in case the car happened to come off the jack. Talk about tense. It is one job I hate, but am glad the phone was not needed. By the end, I am pretty sure my son was inventing cuss words. It was hard to tell over the very loud, eh, I think it was supposed to be music, coming out of his phone.

Let's see, what else. Oh, at the moment, Micah is the only moving vehicle in the family. The girl's car quit Friday night. Some pulley or other that hopefully will be fixed tomorrow. At least, I am praying it is.

Hummm... The husband is making his monthly visit home. Of course, that just causes the routine derail. Which explains why I am on here this late at night.

I have more or less gotten back to my walks; short ones on the days I don't feel like walking much, but still walking.

The damned oil pulling biz... well, I am a bit spotty with it. After a month, I saw little change. Using baking soda to brush showed faster results. So I don't recommend the oil thing, though my gums seem healthier, my teeth still have the plaque thing going.

I have been reading a bit more. After Crichton's Eaters of the Dead, a good one once I got into it, I read The Perks of Being a Wallflower, in less than 24 hours. Yes, it's aimed at younger readers, I've heard, but it really hit home in so many ways for me. it is a powerful story worth reading at any age. Even the Punk seemed moved by it as he listened to it on Audio and we chatted about it.

I am now reading J K Rowling's latest. It is her first written for adult audiences. The story it's self is good, but I have a hard time trying to read a book by an author who seems determined to show off every $10 word she knows. If you decide to read it, have a dictionary at hand.

That's about it for now. Hopefully the new week will at least be some what cheerful...
