How Did I Get Here, And Where Is The Next Turn?

Down to the Wire

Well, tomorrow is the big day. I have spent today with the whole prep thing, and, let me tell you, it's been not quite as bad as the stomach flu or food poisoning, but it's close.

The worst part is that I have a tiny headache because, no matter how much tea, soda or damned jello I shove in, I AM FRIGGING HUNGRY!!!!!! I ate breakfast after my walk, trying to follow the damned 'low fiber, low residue' diet they gave me. At 10, I started this foul business. If you have ever had planned abdominal surgery, or other procedures having to do with the insides, you know what I have been through. If not, aren't you just special? I'll save the gory details... but I could swear there is rust... and my bubble gum from 6th grade...

Anyway, some of my family will be at the hospital tomorrow. I think my mom and sister are planning to be there. The one I will miss greatly, as he won't be able to be there until Thursday, is the boy. He has to work tomorrow night, and my surgery isn't until 1. I'll get to see him before we leave in the morning.

It's strange, but I am almost giddy over all this. It's FINALLY going to happen. I am FINALLY going to get rid of those offending C cells, so that, in a few weeks, I can throw myself, full force, back into getting off the rest of this blubber, getting a job so I can get on with doing the things I want to do while I still have the time... Dear Lord, Please let all go smoothly tomorrow.

I am praying for you and the docs. Successful surgery, no radiation, and quick and complete recovery.
