How Did I Get Here, And Where Is The Next Turn?

Let the Games Begin...

The damned dress came yesterday. It and the jacket came in the now familiar gray plastic bag, and was jammed tight into the mail box. Of course I tried on the dress as soon as I could get the damned bag open. The fabric is not quite what the picture on line showed, but its texture makes up for that slight disappointment: light, airy, almost feels like you're not wearing anything at all. Now that is a scary thought! Ha! It's also a bit longer than I figured it would be. At 5 feet, 9 inches, I am used to things being a little shorter than what the photo shows. I buy 'Tall' when ever possible, but my last jeans drag out my tracks. The dress almost touches the tops of my feet. The best part, though, is that it is actually bigger than I figured it would be. I might have gotten away with a size smaller, but I didn't want to risk it. None of the companies seem to know what a size actually is. They tend to run small, so I was happily surprised.

DD's arrival marks the beginning of some hectic days, and what is really crazy is that I am only slightly anxious. Normally, at this point, I would be hyperventilating, reaching each activity through a chocolate haze. The husband and I are looking forward to our night out tonight, with our supper club group and another. The Rattlesnake Inn sounds interesting, but I'm just looking forward to being back in Alabama for the evening.

We had planned to go out tomorrow as well, but that will not be in the realm of possibilities if I want shoes to wear in 8 days. There is also a book waiting for me to pick up that is a bit more important than a blasted football game. (Even if it is Bama and the husband's fave Michigan. We will just keep track of the score on line, I guess.)

I haven't talked to the BFF, yet, but I know she is getting jazzed. 8 days, until she makes what I know she hopes will be her last vow of love forever. I hope it is. He seems like a good man, something that has been hard for her to find.

So many changes in such a short time. I guess it's true that when good things start happening, they just draw more good things. I can not wait to see what is next around the bend in this path I am on.

Oh, Connie, darlin' friend. No worries about pictures. The BFF has assured me her wrestling techniques are perfected, and I will not be allowed to duck and cover when the cameras start. She'll be posting them on FB, and I'll be sure to swipe the least disgusting for public consumption.
